Clinical hypnotherapy is evidence based and clinically proven to help with many conditions. It has been used for thousands of years and has helped millions of people across the world with a wide variety of problems.
Hypnosis is a naturally occurring state of focused attention to the exclusion of everyday distractions that constantly fill our minds. Our conscious mind is continually cluttered with a myriad of tasks that we need to perform in order to function in our modern fast paced world. But our conscious mind can only focus on a small number of things at one time. Be that a work task, planning what to prepare for dinner or what time the kids sporting appointments are tomorrow. Meanwhile our unconscious mind is busy taking care of MILLIONS of tasks that keep us alive and functioning, such as analyzing all of the sensory information coming into it from our five senses and instantly reacting to danger, or creating 2 million red blood cells EVERY SECOND, to alerting us that it is time to eat or sleep plus thousands of other functions. This unconscious part of our mind is where all of our long-term memories are stored, everything that has ever happened to us, it is where our emotions reside, our beliefs and in some cases our scars from trauma or mistreatment. It is a truly powerful part of us, of ourselves, and it is silently producing miracles all day long, and almost always unnoticed by us, unconsciously.
Clinical hypnosis is a technique of accessing this unconscious part of our mind and applying focus to it. Because this is rarely, if ever, done these scripts that influence our moods and behaviors are like computer programs running in the background but not noticed by us. It is while we are fucossed on these programs during hypnosis that we can start to rewrite them to suit our needs today, not as they were written at whatever timeframe in the past that they occurred. These scripts are having a profound effect on our moods, emotions, behaviours and our health. It is time to make these thought patterns work for us not hinder us.
